January 30th, 2007, SanDisk Semiconductor (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as SanDisk) hosted a royal ceremony for its construction starting in Shanghai Zizhu Science-based Industrial Park. Sincere guests presented in the ceremony, including Minhang District Chief, Chen Jing; Vice Secretary-general of Shanghai Foreign Economic and Trade Committee, Yu Jiangming; Deputy Minhang District Chief, Zhang Wenyue; Executive VP of SanDisk, Dr.Randhir Thakur; Chairman and General Manager of Shanghai Zizhu Science-based Industrial Park, Shen Wen.

SanDisk registered in Shanghai Zizhu Science-based Industrial Park in August 2006, with investment capital $96 million and registered capital $32 million for phase 1, covering an area of 60 thousand square meters. It mainly focused on designing, developing, testing, packaging, manufacturing and selling new type of electronics devices and providing related technics and consulting services.

SanDisk will create a gathering effect with other big international electronic related companies registered in Zizhu Park. Also, following by a long-term strategy and implementation, SanDisk is expected to speed up the development of upstream and downstream related industries, such as flash memory material, design and packaging industry, subtrate industry, chemical material industry and testing industry.
