Three-Dimension Value Creation

STMicroelectronics Innovation Center for New Energy Vehicles was founded in 2019. Faced with the rapid expansion and demand upgrade of China's new energy vehicle market, the company deepens localization investment and continues to increase technological innovation and ecological co-construction. The New Energy Vehicle Innovation Center, which will be revitalized after this expansion and upgrade, serves as a strategic carrier and will empower the intelligent and electric transformation of China's automotive industry through a full chain support system from chip design to system solutions, relying on an integrated service model.

The new innovation center focuses on key technology scenarios of new energy vehicles, covering cutting-edge fields such as domain control, energy management, intelligent chassis, positioning systems and edge AI. The center is committed to creating core value for customers from three dimensions.

The first is technological innovation. The center will focus on core technologies and provide complete solutions from chips to systems. Key breakthroughs will be made in key areas such as automotive grade MCU, power management chips and intelligent power devices to create technological competitive advantages for customers.

Next is efficiency improvement. Since its establishment in 2019, through localized technical support and rapid response mechanisms, the center has provided customers with over 5000 hours of training time, launched more than 30 solutions, and obtained over 10 patents for more than 10 new car models, effectively enhancing customers' market competitiveness.

The third is ecological empowerment. The center has deep cooperation with top universities such as Shanghai Jiao Tong University and East China Normal University. It is committed to cultivating local interdisciplinary and composite innovative talents in China.

Deeply Cultivating and Innovating in China

Since 1995, STMicroelectronics has continuously strengthened its technological capabilities in Asia. with the Chinese market as its core, it has successively built technology innovation center clusters covering seven strategic areas: Internet of Things, motor control, automation, smartphones, electric vehicles, power and energy, and artificial intelligence. As the core pivot of the company's "in China, for China" strategy, these centers integrate global resources, customize solutions for the Chinese market and provide real-time technical support.

“Looking ahead to the future, STMicroelectronics will continue to integrate global resources and remain steadfast in its commitment to 'in China, for China'. With the support of Shanghai New Energy Vehicle Innovation Center, we will work together with local partners to promote the intelligent and high-end transition of the new energy vehicle industry, leading the global green travel revolution, " said Cao Zhiping.
