The Expansion Project of Exxon Mobil Shanghai R&D Center Completed in Zizhu High-Tech Park

Exxon Mobil announced that the expansion project of Exxon Mobil Shanghai R&D Center with an investment of tens of millions USD was completed and put into use in Zizhu Hi-tech Zone on April 19, 2018. The expansion project includes the new first-rate R&D facilities. They will provide support for deepening cooperation with customers and promoting business growth.

"We have entered the golden age of the chemical industry, and the growth rate is expected to be significantly faster than GDP growth." Mr. Ke Dongming, senior vice president of Exxon Mobil Chemical (polymer business) said at the opening ceremony attended by the management team, customers, local government officials and employees. “Most of the growth will occur in Asia and other developing countries and regions in the world. The growth of global population and the improvement of living standards will promote the growth of the chemical industry."

"The new facilities at the newly built Shanghai R&D Center will help us establish closer cooperation with our customers and develop innovative solutions for affordable and sustainable products." Mr. Ke Dongming said.

Covering an area of 27,000 square meters and providing all-round support and service to customers, Exxon Mobil Shanghai R&D Center was put into operation in 2011. The center has advanced laboratory analysis and testing instruments and product processing equipment such as blown film extrusion, injection molding, profile extrusion and blending processing, the advanced seven-layer membrane equipment. It also has tyre testing ability.

The new facility includes a large multi-functional auditorium, several training rooms and conference areas. The auditorium also has a special reception area to show the company's technological power and leading technology.

The center also combines te-chnical services, application of ex-pertise, collaboration planning, training and marketing support to support the company's lubricants business.
