The appointment ceremony of Shen Wen as the member of the board of trustees of Shanghai Jiaotong University was held in the Convention Center of Wenbo Building on the morning of April 8, 2021. Yan Quanqi,  the deputy chairman of the standing committee of the 12th National People's Congress, Yang Zhenbin, the party secretary of Shanghai Jiaotong University, Lin Zhongqin, the Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering and the president, the old leaders of Shanghai Jiaotong University, Ni Yaoming, the secretary of CPC Minhang District Committee, deputy secretary and governor Chen Yujian, Ning Guang, the Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering and the director of Ruijin Hospital, Shen Wen, the board chairman and general manager of Zizhu High-Tech Park,  Xia Guang, the executive vice general manager and the leaders from Minhang District, Ruijin Hospital, Shanghai Jiaotong University and Zizhu High-Tech Park attended the ceremony.  The ceremony was presided over by Zhang Ansheng, the vice president of Shanghai Jiaotong University.  

President Lin Zhongqin said in his speech that as a world-famous university, the Board of Trustees of Shanghai Jiaotong University is a consulting organization that gathers social celebrities and talents to introduce social resources and provide support for the construction and development of the university.  As the representative of the first batch of successful entrepreneurs after China's reform and opening up policy, Mr. Shen Wen is an old friend of Shanghai Jiaotong University who had given full support to its development. Over the years, Mr. Shen Wen, together with Zizhu High-Tech Park and Zijiang Group, has donated RMB 1 billion to Shanghai Jiaotong University, reflecting the strong sense of social responsibility.  The appointment of Mr. Shen Wen as the member of the third Board of Trustees of Shanghai Jiaotong University is not only the thanks to the people from all walks of life who have given great support to the education cause represented by Mr. Shen Wen, but also to carry forward and inherit the spirit of practicing social responsibility.  

In the warm applause, Secretary Yang Zhenbin and Principal Lin Zhongqin presented the letter of appointment to Mr. Shen Wen and wore the school emblem for him.  

Chairman Shen Wen addressed at the ceremony. He congratulated Shanghai Jiaotong University on its rapid development and felt honored to be appointed as a member of the Board of Trustees of Shanghai Jiaotong University. He said that he will continue to care about and support the construction and development of Shanghai Jiaotong University and make joint efforts to build Shanghai Jiaotong University into a world-class university.  

Shanghai Jiaotong University and Zizhu High-Tech Park have launched active exploration in various fields such as industry-university-research cooperation, talent training, cooperative education and university-enterprise cooperation since 2001, and have achieved fruitful results, laying a solid foundation for further cooperation.  Taking Board Chairman Shen Wen being appointed a member of the Board of Trustees of Shanghai Jiaotong University as an opportunity, Zizhu High-Tech Park and Shanghai Jiaotong University will give full play to their respective advantages and continue to carry out all-round cooperation in various fields and through multi-channels on the platform of “three-area-interaction” and make joint effort to advance the national strategy of “building Shanghai into an innovation center with global influence".

In the testimony of the leaders and guests, party secretary Yang Zhenbin and board chairman Shen Wen jointly signed the Fund Donation Agreement on Building the New Engineering Hall of Shanghai Jiaotong University. Zizhu High-Tech Park donates RMB 100 million to Shanghai Jiaotong University to build the New Engineering Hall on Minhang Campus. This is also a tribute to the 100th anniversary of CPC and the 125th anniversary of Shanghai Jiaotong University.
