BesTV New Media Research Institute Officially Established The first New Media Research Institute Settled down in Zizhu High-Tech Park - Zizhu National High-Tech Industrial Development Park

On May 31, 2012, the first domestic new media research institution-BesTV New Media Research Institute was established in Shanghai Zizhu National High-tech Zone. Zong Ming, deputy minister of the propaganda department of CPC Shanghai committee, Qiu Xin, director of Shanghai Radio and TV Station, the president of Shanghai Oriental Media Group Co., Ltd. and the president of BesTV New Media Co., Ltd, Gao Shaojun, vice director of Academy of Broadcasting Science of the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television and Cai Xiaoqing, deputy governor of Minhang District inaugurated the institute. Shen Wen, president and general manager and Xia Guang, vice general manager of Zizhu High-tech Zone attended the ceremony.

The establishment of the institute marks a new stage of development of new media industry. The institute will conduct researches and innovations in the field of new media application, multimedia end products, user behavior and interactive experience. The research covers new media industry policy environment, patent and standard, national key projects, joint laboratories of colleges and enterprises, data analysis and business consulting. It will be devoted to shortening the path from "research" to "application" by turning cutting-edge technologies into actual products and hatching more scientific research achievements.

As a leading new media enterprise, BesTV has involved itself in IPTV, intelligent TV, mobile Internet, Internet video and other new media sectors. At the end of last year, it was successfully listed at the capital market and was called the "first shares” of new media industry. In the past seven years of development, BesTV has accumulated much experience in new media operation and services. The institute aims at building an innovation incubator for BesTV and the whole production chain of new media industry and promoting rapid technical innovation and development of the industry.
