Vice President of Ministry of Education, Wu Qidi, Associate Secretary of Shanghai Municipality Jiang Ping, and more than 100 presidents of domestic and overseas universities visited Zizhu Science-based Industrial Park in July 17, 2006, companied by Head of Minhang District Chen Jiang and Deputy Head Zhang Chen.

The guests visited Shanghai Zizhu University Students and Teachers Innovation Center, Zizhu Science-based Park Technology Exhibition Center, Intel and Hingesoftware.

The guests were expressed by what they saw during the tour and said until the moment they truly understood the brilliant achievements of “three zones interacting”.

In Shanghai Zizhu University Students and Teachers Innovation Center, students doing their own business there showed their projects to presidents of all universities. Presidents showed their interests in the details and said to reporters, “innovation center is the place students get to understand the society and make full use of their knowledge, and the window to pay back ”. They also suggested that innovation center should build up a closer relationship with universities and further study system should be approved. The suggestion earned students’ applause.

Presidents said the experience of “three zones interacting” gave a new idea of university innovation, accordant with the “strategy of prospering municipality by science and education”. They also agreed that this was instructive to all universities. Research was one of the characteristics of universities and variety of information was one of the characteristics of market while science-based parks were the bridge connecting both of them.
