On May 10th, 2004, SMC (China) Co., Ltd. has signed an agreement to build an R&D and Operation Center in Zizhu. The total investment is about 4 million US dollars for the 1st phase. As the world's largest manufacturer of pneumatic automation products, SMC has the long and integrated investment plan in China. Considering the south-extended policies of its own, convenient geographic location and good facilities of Zizhu, SMC finally chose Zizhu.

SMC plan to cooperate with Jiaotong University to research its pneumatic automation technology through Zizhu platform. Mr. Zhao Tong, the general manager of SMC (China) Co., Ltd said, the new-built center will integrate the whole southern China business of SMC.

It is reported that SMC is preparing for building office building, and will move into Zizhu in state by the end of next July.
