In the afternoon of 6th June 2006, a grand ceremony was hold for ST Microelectronics R&D (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. ‘s foundation laying. Deputy Head of Shanghai Minhang District Foreign Relationship and Trade Commission Jia Kaijing, Vice President of Zizhu Scientific Park Xia Guang and Board Member of ST Microelectronics China Guan Liangzhong attended this ceremony.

ST Microelectronics R&D (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. concentrates on the research and development of semiconductor electronics products and IC designs. It also deals with transferring of the technology and technical consultation. The center will be done by April 2007 with more than one thousand personnel and the construction space for phase one is around 20,000 ㎡.
