The torch center of the Ministry of Science and Technology recently issued the “notice of the evaluation (trial) results of national high-tech zones”. Zizhu Hi-tech Zone ranks 16 in the 147 national Hi-tech Zones.

Since its establishment in 2002, Zizhu Hi-tech Zone obtained the title of national Hi-tech zone in 2011 after nine years of efforts. It was included in the national Hi-tech zones evaluation and assessment system of the Ministry of Science and Technology in 2012. The evaluating system consists of four modules including knowledge creation and technology innovation ability (30%), industrial upgrading and structural opti-mization ability (30%), internation-alization and the ability to compete globally (20%), the sustainable development ability (20%) with a total of 40 statistical indicators (including 32 quantitative indicators and 8 qu-alitative indicators). The torch center audits and examines the statistical data submitted by the companies in Zizhu Hi-tech Zone and investigated these companies on irregular basis. After that, the torch center issues the final comprehensive ranking and announces the ranking results. Zizhu Hi-tech Zone ranked 28th in 2012, 24th in 2013, 18th in 2014 and 17th in 2015. Now it ranks 16th in 2016.

Zizhu Hi-tech Zone has clear advantage in the number of talents with bachelor degree (including) or above, the R&D expenditure per ten thousand yuan of sales revenue, the number of national research and development institutions, the proportion of service income in the total income and the tax growth rate of the enterprises. In the single indicator, the internationalization and global competition ability ranks 6th. The knowledge creation and tech-nological innovation ability ranks 11th and the sustainable development ability ranks 28th.

Vice general manager Luo Shan-ying said that Zizhu will continue to give full play to the mechanism and system advantage, the high-quality talent and the intensive utilization of land, build better platform for innovation and entrepreneurship, introduce better operation policies and improve the commercial, tran-sportation and other infrastructure facilities to improve the ranking in na-tional Hi-tech zones at the 20th anniversary Zizhu Hi-tech Zone.
