The San Diego delegation led by the county supervisor Ron Roberts visited Zizhu Hi-tech Zone form April 10 to 11, 2017. The delegation consists of 24 members, including Thomas Sudberry, the President of Sudberry Real Estate Company, Yehudi Anthony Gaffen, the CEO of Gafcon. Inc., Frank Wolden, the principal of AVRP Skyport Studios, Margaret Leinen, the vice chancellor and director of UCSD Scripps Institution of Oceanography, Amram Knishinsky, the CEO of Od-ysea Aquarium, Hubert Viriot, the CEO of Yotel, Michael Kitchen, the chief development officer of ThrillCorp, Inc. and Shawn Dixon, the chief operation officer of San Diego Zoo Global etc.

Governor Zhu Zhisong and De-puty Governor Wubin met with the delegation at Minhang conference center on the afternoon of April 10th. Board chairman and general manager Shenwen, executive vice general manager Xia Guang and director Liu Wei participated in the meeting. Governor Zhu welcomed the delegation and introduced the historical development, population, area, economy, industry and educa-tion, etc. of Minhang district, say-ing that the experience of San Die-go County in city management, environment construction, industry development etc. is worth learning. Ron Roberts highly praised the dev-elopment of Minhang and said that Minhang has a lot in common in the innovation of science and technology, education, residential environment construction, etc. with San Diego County. He looked forward to more in-depth cooperation with Minhang. Deputy governor Wu Bin said that the visit is of great significance under the background of the successful visit of President Xi Jinping to the US. The delegation also discussed the issues in convenient transportation and the establishment of friendly cooperative urban relations.

The delegation visited Zizhu Exhibition Center, the Riverside Aven-ue, Zizhu Purple Bay and Zizhu Intern-ational Education Park and learnt the development of high-tech industry, environment construction, housing, education and health facilities as well as the overall planning. The members were amazed by the achievements in the past 15 years.

Executive vice general manager Xia Guang said Zizhu and San Diego county has a profound basis of coop-eration as they jointly hosted the 2014 industrial cooperation forum. The fre-quent interaction after that boosted the economic and cultural development of Zizhu. He hoped that the visit can lay a more profound basis for future friendship and cooperation.
