The First National Network Audio-Visual Industry Base Breaks Ground in Zizhu High-Tech Park

On December 1, the cooperation agreement signing ceremony between the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television and Shanghai Municipal Government and the land breaking ceremony of China (Shanghai) network audio-visual industry base was held in Shanghai. Cai Fuchao, director of the administration and vice minister of the Publicity Department of CPC central Committee and Shanghai mayor Han Zheng attended the ceremony. Tian Jin, Deputy Director of the Administration and Shanghai vice mayor Tu Guangshao signed the cooperation agreement.

Cai pointed out at the ceremony that the base would serve as an important way to build a modern propagation system with advanced technology, fast spreading and wide coverage. He also said that the administration will cooperate closely with Shanghai municipal government to promote the innovation and healthy development of network audio-visual industry. 

Mayor Han Zheng said in his speech that the construction of the first national network audio-visual industry base would play an important role in speeding up the development of culture industry. He remarked that Shanghai would further optimize industrial development environment to attract more network audio-visual related companies to Shanghai.

As one of the key projects in Shanghai 12th-five-year-plan, China (Shanghai) network audio-visual industry base covers an area of 146,740 square meters with a construction area of about 400, 000 square meters. The investment is expected to be 3.5 billion RMB. It will be built into a complex incorporating R&D, business operation and supporting facilities. 

Under the leadership of the state administration of radio, film and television and Shanghai municipal government, Zizhu high-tech zone will vigorously speed up the base construction, build an international network communication platform, construct a network audio-visual content public service platform and promote the personnel training and the standardization system construction to build the base into a first rate network audio-visual industry base with an annual revenue of 10 billion RMB.

Leaders from relevant government departments and Mo Fuchun, deputy governor of Minhang District and deputy Secretary of CPC Minhang District Committee and Shen Wen, board chairman and general manager of Zizhu high-tech zone, attended the ceremony.
