On July 5th, the infomationization project cooperation agreement was signed by Shanghai Zizhu Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone (SZHIDZ) and China Telecom. This means the cooperation between the two sides entering a new phase. China Telecom became the first enterprise that has signed a cooperation agreement with SZHIDZ after it was upgraded to national high-tech industrial development zone. Gordon Xia, the executive deputy GM of SZHIDZ and Wu Dongli, the vice GM of China Telecom Shanghai attended the ceremony.

Base on the infomationization development program of the "12th five- year plan" and the development requirements of SZHIDZ, China Telecom will take high speed optical fiber，3G and WiFi as means to attain the “Gigabit enter and Trillionth exit” of network coverage and eventually achieve a "new generation of all-optical networks zone", “wireless network Hi-tech zone" and "regional data center" during the period of cooperation. Using the existing CPN network resources, China Telecom will offer more and more value-added information services including intelligent security monitoring system, pollution warning system, "one-card-pass" system”, “PPT e surfing talkback system” , “3G mobile payment” and other integrated information solutions. The ultimate goal is to turn SZHIDZ into a smart high-tech zone with “information services” and “intelligent life”.
