The Opening Ceremony for ST Microelectronics R&D (China) Center is celebrated in Shanghai Zizhu Science-Based Industrial Park on April 7th , 2008. Mr. Alain Dutheil,ST global operation Officer, Mr. Massimo Roscigno, the Consul General of Italia, Mr. Jacques Torregrossa, the Commercial Counselor of France, ST President (China) Mr. Mingyuan Ke, Mr. Jing Chen,Head officer of MingHang District, Ms. Yingxing Zhang, the Vice Director of Shanghai Foreign Economic Relation & Trade commission, Mr. Xiangmin Cheng, the Vice Warden of MingHang District, the Chairman and Mr. Wen Shen, General Manager of Zizhu Park, attended this opening-ceremony.

ST Microelectronics is always a leader in Microelectronics Industry in China. Currently, there are about 4800 employees in China, including about 1000 employees engaged in designing, technical supports, and Marketing sales. ST Microelectronics has great power on multi-media, digital consumer electronics，communication, and industrial applications. Since 1999, ST Microelectronics has been great successful and sales revenue has been growing steadily. Compared with the global Microelectronics industry’s annual growth rate 7% and Chinese Microelectronics industry’s annual growth rate 24%, the ST Microelectronics annual growth rate goes up to 31%. It is forecasted that Chinese market will occupy 1/5 market share of global Microelectronics. In order to provide better service in Chinese market, ST Microelectronics R&D (China) Center was established in 2005, which mainly responds to businesses and services in Mainland China、HongKong、TaiWan. The establishment of ST Microelectronics R&D (China) Center means ST will enhance long-investments in China market and achieve great success in this fast growing economic zone.
