The Schools Affiliated to East China Normal University in Zizhu Education Supporting Area Begins Construction

On the morning of April 15th 2010, the opening ceremony of the project on schools affiliated to East China Normal University was held in Zizhu Education Supporting Area. Deputy director Huoqing Yin of Shanghai Municipal Education Committee, party general secretary Jishun Zhang and VP Huiming Zhuang of East China Normal University, party committee secretary Chao Sun and the governor Jing Chen and vice governor Zuqiang Yan of Minhang District, deputy director Lihong Yu of district People’s Congress, vice governor Demei Yang of Minhang District, vice chairman Genfu Xia of District Political Consultative Conference, chairman of GM Wen Shen of Shanghai Zizhu Science-based Industrial Park, the leaders from Shanghai Municipal Development & Reform Commission and Shanghai Municipal Construction Committee attended the ceremony.

The schools affiliated to East China Normal University are to be co-built by East China Normal University, Minhang District Government as well as Zizhu Park, and it will be managed by the excellent teaching and management teams from East China Normal University after the construction. The purpose of the education supporting facilities at a high starting point and high standard is to feed on the strong professional advantages of East China Normal University, achieving “the first-class education concept, first-class faculty group, first-class management level, first-class education quality, first-class school buildings and modern outstanding education park”.

The project, jointly financed by Minhang District Government, Zizhu Park and Wujing Town, consists of the kindergarten, primary school and Minhang campus of the second high school affiliated to East China Normal University. It covers an area of 154 thousand square meters, with the total construction area of 103.4 thousand square meters ( the area of high school is 62934 square meters, the area of primary school is 12728 square meters, the area of kindergarten is 11602 square meters), and will be put into use in September 2011.
