On April 12th, Mr.Yuesheng Tan, president of Borgwarner (China) Investment Co., Ltd. and Mr. Guang Xia, executive VP of Shanghai Zizhu Science-Based Industrial Park, signed the investment agreement to set up Borgwarner China R&D Center at Grandmercure Hongqiao Shanghai on behalf of their companies respectively. This is another important measure of BorgWarner after the registration of Shanghai headquarters, BorgWarner (China) Investment Co., Ltd., in Zizhu Park.
The negotiation of the project of Borgwarner R&D Center took one and half year. The two companies have kept a close relationship since Borgwarner (China) Investment Co., Ltd.（China headquarters）settled in ZiZhu Park with registered capital of USD 30million. With great efforts, the newly established Borgwarner (China) Automobile Parts R&D Center will be the biggest R&D center outside the U.S.A., which consists of several R&D departments and project groups, and provides supports for the clients in Asia-Pacific region. The project covers 430 million square meters, with the investment of over USD 70 million. The total amount of investment of Borgwarner in Zizhu Park will reach USD 126 million.
