Commencement Ceremony of BorgWarner China Technology Center (CTC)Held in Zizhu Science-based Industrial Park

On Oct. 23, a solemn commencement ceremony of BorgWarner China Technology Center (CTC)was held in Zizhu Science-based Industrial Park. Jianguo Chen, deputy director of Industry Department of National Development and Reform Commission, Guoqiang Yang, director of Shanghai Foreign Economic Relation & Trade Commission, Xiangmin Cheng, deputy chief of Minhang district, Tim Manganello,BorgWarner President & CEO, Yuesheng Tan, President of BorgWarner China Region and Wen Shen, board director and general manager of Shanghai Zizhu Science-based Industrial Park attended the ceremony.

BorgWarner (China) Investment Co., Ltd was incorporated in the Park on January 14, 2008 with a registered capital of 30,000,000 U.S. dollars.  On this basis, Borg Warner (China) R&D Co., Ltd (also named BorgWarner China Technology Center) was incorporated with a registered capital of 12,000,000 U.S. dollars, making the total investment amount to 36,000,000 U.S. dollars. With a total building area of 26,946 square meters, the Center is capable of accommodating 400 working staff and it will be completed and put into operation by the end of 2009. With world-class auto spare parts R&D capability, the Center is able to provide customers around the world with internationally-advanced technology and support.

Jianguo Chen and Tim Manganello jointly dotted the dancing lion’s eyes, indicating that, as the automotive and power transmission technology leader in the world, BorgWarner will make greater achievements in China. Amid salvos, colored flags, magnesium light and the deafening sound of drums and gongs, dignified guests on the rostrum laid the cornerstone for the Center.
