ExxonMobil Chemical Shanghai Technology Center Put into Operation

On March 30th 2011, the grand opening ceremony of ExxonMobil Chemical STC was held at Zizhu Park. With the investment of 90 million USD and floor space of 27000 square meters, the center is the third R&D center of ExxonMobil Chemical in the world, boasting advanced laboratory analyzer & testing instrument, and processing equipment for production scale. The center will play a key role in developing new high-end products, which will be manufactured or marketed globally.

“The operation of STC was a significant milestone, fully demonstrating our commitment to China and the region.”, said Mr. Stephen D. Pryor, president of ExxonMobil Chemical, “We predicted that the high-end products would achieve the sustainable growth, which would be supported by the center through providing innovative solutions for the clients.”

Mr. William P. Cirioli, VP of technology of ExxonMobil Chemical, Mr. Dirk J. Michiels, technical manger of ExxonMobil Asia pacific R&D Co., Ltd. and GM of STC, Mr. Paul Theys, board chairman of ExxonMobil (China) Co., Ltd., Ms. Beatrice Camp, consul general of US consulate in Shanghai attended the ceremony. Xiangmin Cheng, vice governor of Minhang District delivered a speech on behalf of Minhang district government, and Ms. Chaohui Liu, deputy division chief of foreign investment division of Shanghai Commerce Commission, as well as WenShen, Chairman & GM of Zizhu Park also attended the opening ceremony.
