GE-AVIC Avionics System Unveiled at Zizhu Park

Witnessed by the two heads of China and United States, AVIC and GE signed the contract for establishing a JV of Avionics on Jan.22th at Chicago, which was one of the important clauses of protocol suite signed by President Jintao Hu during his visit to America this January. Thereafter on Jan.26th, the grand unveiling ceremony of GE - AVIC Avionics System was held at the conference center of Zizhu Park by AVIC and GE, which marked the beginning of “intermarriage” between two aviation corporations of China and America. Guangshan Lu, board chairman and GM of Aviation Industry Electronics System of China and Ms. Lorraine Bolsinger, president of GE avionics system unveiled the ceremony on their behalf respectively. Gordon Xia, Executive VP of Zizhu Park, participated in the ceremony.

The initial strategic focus of the JV established by AVIC and GE is to provide China-made large aircraft C919 with the integrated avionics system. As the JV develops in the future, it will enter into the world civil aircraft avionics market in the role of tier one suppliers, competing against Boeing, Airbus and Bombardier, etc. 

The JV co-established by China and America has formally entered Building 3 of Zizhu Digital Hub, and over 100 Chinese and foreign engineers have initiated their work. The settlement of the JV has been a milestone for developing aviation and aerospace industries at Zizhu Park, since the entry of Shanghai Aircraft Customer Service Co., Ltd and AVIC Commercial Engine R&D, etc.
