On 16 July 2007, the groundbreaking ceremony of Coca Cola China Headquarters and Global Innovation and Technology Center was ceremoniously held in Zizhu Park. The leaders from Shanghai Municipal Government, Standing Committee of Shanghai People's Congress, Shanghai Minhang District and Zizhu Park attended the ceremony and congratulated Coco Cola on settling down in Zizhu Park.

It is reported that the new center is five times larger than the current size, and the headquarter building adopts the green friendly design, symbolizing the long sustainable development strategy of Coco Cola. The new-built global innovation and R&D center provides great support for the current and future business, forming a crucial section of Coco Cola’s global development strategy.
