Accompanied by Ji Zhou, Minister of ministry of Education, Mao Zhang, vice Director of National Development and Reform Commission, Jianlin Cao，Deputy minister of Ministry of Science and Technology, Shaochun Zhang, Deputy minister of Ministry of Finace and Xiaojuan Jiang, vice director of Research Office of the State Council, Yandong Liu, member of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee and State Councilor, inspected Zizhu Science-based Industrial Park on the morning of July 22, 2008. Xiaoming Shen, vice mayor of Shanghai, Chao Sun,  secretary of the CPC Shanghai Minhang District Committee and Wen Shen, Board Director and General Manager of the Park received the inspection group.

After hearing the introduction to the Park made by Chao Sun, Yandong Liu and other leaders watched Zizhu profile videos with great interest, inspected the Exhibition Center on the Achievements in Science and Technology and also paid a field visit to the Riverside Avenue.

During the inspection, Yandong Liu inquired much upon the development history and development mode of the Park. Witnessing the tremendous changes that have taken place in the Park since its establishment six years ago, she fully affirmed the innovative development model and operation mechanism and expressed her hope that the Park would sum up experience to give full play to its advantages for better and faster development.

Yandong Liu pointed out that more importance should be paid to science and technology by actively exploring effective ways of combining production, learning and research, optimizing the integration of innovative resources and promoting the industrialization of research findings. Thus, an innovation-based country is to be well built.
