Inauguration Ceremony of Shanghai National Veterinary R&D Center held in Zizhu Park

At 9:58 am, June 15, 2008, a solemn inauguration ceremony of Shanghai National Veterinary R&D Center was held in Zizhu Science-based Industrial Park. Huqu Zhai, alternate member of CPC Central Committee and director of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Yixing Yuan, director of Financial and Economic Committee of Shanghai People's Congress Standing Committee, Yuhe Wu, section chief of National Development and Reform Commission, Bin Sui, vice director of Development and Planning Division of  Ministry of Agriculture, Qinghai Deng, vice director of Finance Division of Ministry of Agriculture, Jinkang Zhang, deputy secretary of CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee on Economic Work, Hongfan Chen, deputy director of Shanghai Agriculture commission, Xiangmin Chen, deputy chief of Shanghai Minhang District and Guang Xia, executive vice president of Zizhu Science-Based Industrial Park attended the ceremony and pressed the launch ball.

Shanghai National Veterinary R&D Center, preparations for whose construction started in March, 2003, is an innovation platform for Veterinary development built by National Ministry of Agriculture and Shanghai Municipal People's Government. With a total investment of 110 million RMB, the project covers an area of 60 Mu (equivalent to 40,020 square meters) and a building area of 13864.5 square meters. With superb hardware and software, the R&D Center will grow into a national Veterinary innovation center with obvious advantages, distinct features and major influences. In the medium and long run, It will gradually develop into an internationally advanced technological innovation center for Veterinary sciences, China’s first-class incubation center for Veterinary industry, an international Veterinary technology exchange center and training base for senior professionals in this field.
