In the morning of June 4, 2005, Mr. Zai Haohui, the leader of Tai Hu Drainage Area Flood and Drought Protection Team of National Flood Protection Headquarter, and vice minister of National Water Resource Ministry, Mr. Hong Hao, the vice secretary general of Shanghai People’s Municipal Government, Mr. Zhang Jiayi, the director of Shanghai Water Authority, Mr. Chen Jing, the governor of Minhang District and other officers from National Flood Protection Headquarter and National Water Resource Ministry inspect Zizhu’s flood and drought protection work.

Mr. Chen Yong, the deputy general manager of Zizhu makes detailed introduction of the park’s flood and drought protection system. He says that Zizhu emphasizes on the issue and has made considerate and careful preparation for possible flood in this year.

The inspection team speaks highly of the Zizhu’s management of rivers in the area and the Riverside Boulevard, which can carry out both functions of sightseeing and flood protection.
