In the morning of Jan. 11, 2006, led by Mr. Feng Guoqin, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Shanghai Committee and Executive Vice Mayor of Shanghai, Deputy Secretary of Shanghai Municipality Jie XiaoHui, Liu Hongwei and other leaders from relevant departments of Shanghai Municipality came to Zizhu Park for investigation and research.

Mr. Chen Jing, Governor of Minhang District, Chairman of the Board and General Manager of Zizhu Science-based Industrial Park, Mr. Shen Wen and leaders from Shanghai Jiaotong University and East China Normal University accompanied and made reports on special topics regarding the construction of the campus of the Universities, the development of the park and so on respectively. After hearing the reports of the park, universities and the district government, two Deputy Secretaries of Shanghai Municipality and leaders from relevant departments who attended the meeting expressed opinions on the following topics: finance and taxation, transportation, especially on subway system transportation, living and commercial facilities, the development of universities, Zizhu Park and neighboring communities, the construction of innovation bases, introducing venture capitals for the platform of “prosper the city by education and science”, measures of investing and financing like the funds of industrial development.

Executive Vice Mayor of Shanghai, Mr. Feng Guoqin indicated that the development of Zizhu is distinct, progress is tremendous, the course is extraordinary. He hoped that the relevant departments of Shanghai Municipal Government further sticks to the scientific development concept, puts into effect of the strategy of “prosper the city by education and science”, implements the spirit of the national convention of science and technology, accelerates the fulfillment of a series of policies and measures of the central government and Shanghai, fully focusing on Zizhu and supporting Zizhu on the basic of fulfillment so as to get new breakthrough and new innovation on the basic of focusing on Zizhu. He requested the relevant departments pays close attention to research and carries out earnestly and assigned relevant works.

Mr. Feng Guoqin and the other leaders inspected Intel Asia and Pacific R&D center and Shanghai Hinge Software Co. Ltd. He fully affirmed that the park devoted major efforts to introduce well-known R&D centers from home and abroad into the park in order to form multi-level innovative subject and cultivate a batch of self-innovation teams with advanced world levels and science and technology enterprises with self-owned intellectual properties.
